Do you have a background in careers advice? Smart Teachers is looking for a dedicated Full-Time Careers Advisor to join our client school in Enfield, working within a dynamic education setting.

Duties of a Careers Advisor: As a Careers Advisor, you will play a vital role in helping students make informed decisions about their educational and career pathways. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Providing one-on-one career guidance to students, helping them identify their goals and aspirations.
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations to understand each student's unique strengths and interests.
  • Delivering workshops and presentations on career planning, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest industry trends and labour market information to provide up-to-date advice.
  • Collaborating with academic staff to align career development with the curriculum.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress.
  • Connecting students with relevant resources, internship opportunities, and external organisations.
  • Building strong relationships with local employers to facilitate work placements and job opportunities for students.

Requirements: To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:


  • Hold a Level 6 qualification in a careers-related field (e.g., Career Guidance, Education, Counselling).
  • Previous experience in careers advice or education guidance is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
  • Knowledge of the education and employment landscape in Hull and the surrounding areas.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
