Job Description:

Academics Agency is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to work closely with a child with Special Educational Needs in a primary school in Worksop. This is a long-term contract position, commencing after the Easter break. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing one-to-one support to the child, assisting them in their learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the child with SEN, both in and out of the classroom setting.
  • Assist the child with their learning activities, ensuring they are engaged and supported.
  • Help the child with personal care tasks, as required.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for the child, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to ensure the child's needs are met effectively.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/carers, providing updates on the child's progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the child and the school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are advantageous but not essential.
