Within Cardiology we have expanded our Heart Attach Unit and Cardiac Day ward resulting in additional Advance Practitioners posts.
We are seeking experienced band 6 (trainee post) or Band 7 nurse. The successful candidates will work on a rota and cover Cardiology ward areas clerking and discharging patients, cannulation, phlebotomy, prescribing, active ward round participant and working in collaboration with Consultants in outpatient clinics Successful candidates will be expected to compose electronic discharge amongst other extended roles affiliated with the four pillars of advanced practice.
Experience in the role and a completed nurse prescribers course is an advantage although some further training will be available. If training is required the candidate would commence on a band 6, when training completed would be uplifted to band 7.
We currently have thirteen Nurse Practitioners in post but are looking to further develop and expand our current team. We have a comprehensive training programme with a three month supernumerary period.
The post holders work long days and cover weekends but do not cover night duties so if you are looking for a new and exciting challenge as well as a new development to your existing nursing practice please apply.Main duties of the jobThe advanced clinical practitioner is an experienced registered healthcare professional with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in collaboration with the management and consultant team. The advanced clinical practitioner will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients. In conjunction with other senior healthcare professionals in the team formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice. Imperial Healthcare has made significant investment in developing new ways of working for senior cardiac nurses as Advanced Nurse Practitioners within the cardiac directorate. The ANP (ACP) will join an existing team of established practitioners. The post holder will work as a trainee nurse practitioner (NP) at Band 6, or qualified NP at Band 7 as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality compassionate care to elective and emergency cardiac patients. The post holder will work across directorate and professional boundaries, encouraging inter-disciplinary working for the benefit of improved patient outcomes and efficient use of resources.
