Capital and Reporting Accountant


Circa £50,000 - £55,000, £1,000 flex allowance, up to 15% bonus + benefits


Are you our next Capital and Reporting Accountant? We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible as part of our Finance Function.

What is the role?


This role will support the Capital & Reporting Manager with the production of the Gatwick group management accounts, financial statements and other external reporting and be the day-to-day contact for the financial audit.


This role is responsible for maintaining the end-to-end accounting processes for capital expenditure projects, ensuring efficient tax treatment of those expenditures and for completion of relevant Group reporting and forecasting.


 


 What will you do? (Accountabilities)


 



  • Preparing management accounts, financial statements, ONS returns, audit and tax deliverables and ensuring that all internal, external and group reporting deadlines are met.

  • Fixed asset and general financial month end accounting including posting journals and producing balance sheet reconciliations. 

  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Group's fixed asset register.

  • Performing detailed reviews of capital expenditure projects to ensure accurate financial close out including the review and processing of asset capitalisations and asset disposals.

  • Continuous improvement and maintenance of the following forecast models; depreciation, fixed asset disposals, capitalised interest, capital allowances, corporation tax and deferred tax.

  Do you have what we're looking for? (Skills & experience)



  • Chartered Accountant, Finalist, ACA/ACCA Accreditation

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with business managers.

  • Experience of working in external audit or working with external auditors.

  • In depth knowledge and practical application of IFRS and statutory consolidation procedures in a medium to large size company.

  • A strong aptitude for problem solving with an ability to interpret and compile a broad range of capital accounting analysis and evaluate options.

  • Highly numerate, accurate, with strong Excel experience (pivot tables, lookups etc).

  • Experience and/or aptitude to understand and effectively apply accounting / tax treatments to investment decisions.

  • A strong knowledge of corporation tax, capital allowances and deferred tax is desirable but not required.

  • SAP systems experience is desirable but not required.
