You will work alongside our Brand Managers and be responsible for turning the brand vision, mission and values into a customer focused marketing strategy which delivers value for our audiences and supports delivery of our business objectives. The Defence & Security Portfolio has a series of market-leading events currently based in the UK, Europe, and Asia. These range from confex style events to large scale exhibitions. All are market leaders within their ‘space’ and the next 12 months will see us continue to expand and innovate both in new geographies and on new platforms. Combining the new technologies and our ambitious growth plans – now is an exciting time to be joining both this portfolio and Clarion Events.With an obsessive focus on the customer, you will be responsible for ensuring each event within your allocated portfolio has a clearly defined multi-channel marketing and communications plan with the expectation you will drive best in class marketing practices focused on building a year-round offering and extends connections well beyond the physical event. There will be an emphasis on utilising the data we hold in-house to create revenue opportunities, customer acquisition plans and data acquisition strategies whilst being the main conduit between the sales and marketing functions playing a leading role in driving MQLs and marketing generated revenues.Our marketing team and business more broadly is a matrix – it will be important you’re a self-starter, someone adept at working on multiple projects at the same time and have an excellent communications style as you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns.Key Responsibilities:Planning and executing innovative and revenue-generating, multi-channel, marketing campaigns with collaboration from Brand Marketing Manager, Sales, and Event DirectorLeading the scaling of our platforms and tools with specific focus on campaign automation (Pardot) ensuring we’re able to increasingly provide targeted, tailored, and timely engagementsWorking with the Marketing Operations team to drive an insight and data led approach to campaign development focusing on increasing segmentation and targeting alongside real time performance analysis to monitor and optimise channel effectivenessResponsible for creation of all copy and content to support campaign requirements, ensuring they are on brand, customer focused, and benefit led. Using this content first approach to scale consistent messaging across all channels including email, social, web, paid etc.Execution of all social media marketing channels including providing a plan around key milestones and maximising in-house content for added engagement and delivering growth in-line with benchmarks and KPIsCompleting a data audit that identifies gaps and implement a data acquisition strategy that works constantly in the background of all campaigns to ensure we’re better able to deliver against our corporate targetsUtilising and suggesting improvements to business unit’s Customer Data Platform (CDP) to track lagging and leading indicators on product registrations and act where necessaryIntroducing new technologies that nurture our customers’ needs, purpose and value and maximise the opportunities that arise from this data, devising bespoke marketing campaigns to these customer groupsWorking closely with the portfolio’s sales team creating campaigns that enable them to meet their commercial objectives and KPIs and ensure conversion rates for MQLs to SQLs are managed, maintained, and optimisedKeeping informed on changes to data privacy and other current data regulations.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills & Behaviours:A proven track record of implementing successful and segmented promotional campaignsStrong experience of current marketing technologies to maximise effectiveness, both from a lead generation and a customer service perspectiveProven use and understanding of complex databases and segmentation techniquesCollaboration with sales to increase lead generation and maximizing sales opportunitiesDemonstrable experience in marketing automation and CRM platforms (Pardot, PowerBI & Salesforce)Demonstrable skills in crafting great copy, to support brand building and crafting narrativeUnderstanding of content marketing and the role it plays in brand building and year-round engagementExperience of working in a matrix, with excellent stakeholder managementExcellent communication skills and attention to detailExperience of managing a high performing teamGeneral knowledge of all GDPR laws including preference centres and privacy policiesB2B events experience a bonus but not requirementAbout Clarion EventsClarion Events is one of the world’s leading event organisers, producing and delivering innovative and market-leading events since 1947.
