Calibration Engineer

Job DescriptionPosition Title: Calibration Engineer Duration: Permanent Location: CoventryAn exciting opportunity is available to work with one of the world's leading mobility technology companies for development, simulation and testing in the automotive industry.As the successful Calibration Engineer you will be responsible for optimising the calibration of ICEs and hybridised ICE powertrains.Your objective will be to ensure that all target criteria are met and that the powertrain works to its full efficiency in all operating conditions.The role involves planning, preparation and supervision of related vehicle tests, assessment and documentation of test results and delivery of calibrations.You may also be required to participate in vehicle test development trips. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:Planning and execution of engine or vehicle development programCalibration dataset development in-line with guidelines for the relevant attributesAnalysis of results and preparation of recommendationsDataset validation for all ambient conditions both in facility and in territory, including final reporting and documentationLiaison and reporting to various functions within the organisation YOUR PROFILE:Essential:BEng in Mechanical/Automotive or related engineering disciplineExperience in diesel emissions testing and data analysisGood knowledge of diesel combustion engine fundamentalsGood knowledge of diesel exhaust after-treatment hardwareGood knowledge of diesel EMS and related tools and softwareExcellent inter-personal and communication skillsProven project management skillsCapable of working independently as well as part of large and small teams including leading teams Preferable:Masters or PhD in specific subject area preferredGood knowledge of diesel ICE OBDGood knowledge of SCR aftertreatment systemsKnowledge of data analysis tools such as the Clients' Concerto or equivalentKnowledge of statistical analysis methods and toolsWorking knowledge and experience of MatLab
