Role: CAD Engineer

Hours:40 hrs per week

As the CAD Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the Design Team in creating full product drawings, components, supplier drawings and Client proposals across our standard product range and custom and bespoke projects. In addition, you will be responsible for product development and improvements to our standard product range. Running regular meetings with production, identifying, and realising any issues with current design/manufacturing to maximise our production capabilities, guaranteeing exceptional quality and worth of investment for the company clients. You will work within the Design Team collaborating with the Production Team to ensure that manufacturing drawings are clear and fully translatable to the shop floor. You will oversee Vault and maintain a smooth running of data input to enable easy accessibility to released drawings by rest of the company.
We would expect you to use a variety of software to produce designs quickly and efficiently. During your time with Cox, you will receive training and support to help you further develop and fully understand the house style . You will be line managed by the Head of Design and Estimating and work with teams across Cox. You will be required to input and advise on the engineering of Cox London products, advising on technical aspects such as FOS and load bearing as well presenting workable solutions to improve products.
Key Responsibilities Include

Create full drawing packages from the standard product range and develop bespoke designs or new products as directed by the Creative Director for our clients.

Oversee development of standard product drawings and components and ensure filed within Vault correctly, maintaining the company design database
·
Providing technical support to both the Senior CAD Designer and CAD technicians to ensure all drawings are to Cox standard.
·
Liaising and leading organised discussions between Production and Design team to ensure constant product development and improvements.
·
Checking approved prototypes against technical manufacturing drawings.
·
A comprehensive understanding of materials and processes utilized by the company and our suppliers is essential such as lighting manufacture and fabrication of metal furniture using materials such as glass, bronze, brass and steel and stone

Translate specifications and co-ordinating instructions into detailed accurate manufacture drawings for all pieces.
·
Drafting of accurate and detailed installation guides to lead installation teams on projects.
·
Excellent record keeping of work to date on product development.

Knowledge and Experience
·
Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection, including : Auto CAD, 3ds Max, Fusion 360,
·
Inventor Professional. FEA or Ilogic.
·
Rendering: Blender, Keyshot, or similar.
·
Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
·
Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
·
Previous experience in a similar role
Qualifications (desirable)
·
BA(Hons) Product Design, Architecture or comparable
