Position: Buyer
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 based on experience and qualifications
Location: Lewes – own transport required
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week working 7/7.30am to 3.30/4pm
23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, Private Medical scheme, Pension scheme, free parking, hybrid available after three month probation period
Due to expansion we are looking for a Buyer to join the purchasing team of a well established manufacturing company where you will be involved in a range of procurement activities.
The purchasing team is a team of four and as the Buyer you will play a key role in the procurement of direct materials and indirect services.
The Buyer role includes:
Procurement of a varied portfolio of electronics and mechanical components
Negotiating price, terms and related issues with vendors
Preparing purchase orders through a computerized system and placing orders for the purchase of goods and services
Resolving delivery, goods inwards and invoicing issues
Reviewing contracts for changes prior to bid or renewal
Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and ensuring supply contracts are adhered to
Evaluating current and prospective vendors to ensure best possible cost, quality, delivery and overall reliability
You’ll need to have experience in Buying, ideally within manufacturing or engineering sectors and ideally be working towards or fully qualified CIPS however, strong purchasing experience and a degree level education or equivalent will also be considered.
