Buyer

The role of the buyer will be to source products/components for my client liaising with manufacturing and engineering departments.

The responsibilities of the buyer will be to -

• Purchase order placement, management and expedition
• Identifying new sources of supply and some negotiations
• Monitor, manage and report on supplier performance
• Collaboration with stakeholders in engineering, production and quality
• Maintenance of procurement data in MRP

The ideal candidate for the role will have -

• Good knowledge of the manufacturing market
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques
• High level of computer literacy and data analysis (Microsoft products, particularly Excel)
• Experience of operating within a lean manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the procurement and project management of manufacturing commodities
• Experience in sourcing, development, contract negotiation, implementation
