Buyer/Purchasing/Procurement Executive - Stockbridge - £25,000 - £30,000



The Work Shop Romsey are delighted to be working with a growing agricultural supplies company based just on the outskirts of Romsey for a Purchasing/ Buyer/ Procurement person.



The role is based in a rural location, so you need to be a car owner and driver.



The role will receive 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension and Private Healthcare after a years’ service.



The role of Purchasing/ Buyer/ Procurement:



No experience is necessary in Agriculture as the technical products can be taught.



Working with the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will be predominantly be responsible for the replenishment of the company’s stock profile to ensure stock availability at all times.



Purchasing/ Buyer/ Procurement duties:




  • Manage the order process in accordance with current procedures

  • Resourcing products when the preferred supplier is unavailable

  • Ensuring products are delivered on time and in full

  • Maintain accurate ETAs on our internal stock system

  • Working proactively to achieve set goals and KPI’s

  • Produce weekly and monthly KPI tracking reports

  • Liaising with the warehouse to resolve issues and problems with suppliers

  • Supporting the accounts department to ensure invoices are processed correctly

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing suppliers

  • Tendering for key product groups at key times of the year



An ideal Buyer will hold the following skills and experiences in Purchasing, Buying or Procurement:




  • Previous experience working within a purchasing department

  • Good administrative and planning skills with an eye for detail

  • Results orientated with a real focus on achieving targets

  • Good communication skills and telephone manner

  • Good use of initiative

  • Ability to negotiate pricing with suppliers

  • Proficient with Microsoft office products especially Excel
