AtkinsRéalis, Balfour Beatty and Egis Road Operations UK are part of a consortium, creating Connect Plus Services, a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways asset care from finance, through to design, build, maintenance as well as day to day operation.As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital’s orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such as widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys. We also manage the Dartford River crossing and operate and maintain 440 kilometers of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.We are looking for a Business Performance Director to provide leadership and management as a core member of the CPS Senior Leadership Team to deliver the best M25 experience for our customers.About the role:Guide the Performance Quality & Improvement team to effectively achieve designated business objectives.Establish and continuously utilise Enterprise Risk Management within the contract framework.Maintain the relevance of the Business Strategy to address the evolving demands of the network, our clients (National Highways and Connect Plus) and our JV Parent Companies.Prioritise client management and relationships, aiming to extract maximum value and alignment with the Parent Companies within the JV Partnership.FINANCIAL responsibilities:CPS: In SLT role, responsible for financial performance associated with Quality, Assurance & Improvement team.ORGANISATIONAL responsibilities:CPS: In SLT role, responsible for the performance of the Quality, Assurance & Improvement team.INTERNAL:CPS: Peers on the CPS SLT as well as ‘Heads of’ / SMT across CPS.EXTERNAL:Allocated responsibility for relationships with leaders in our clients Connect Plus (CP) and National Highways (NH) plus Parent Company & JV Partner Board membersAccountabilities:Demonstrate a clear understanding of safety and wellbeing standards and effectively communicate with enthusiasm and credibility to inspire and energise the team towards achieving our goals.Fostering, empowering, and sustaining a high-performing team dedicated to meeting and exceeding contract performance expectations.Collaborate closely with other senior leaders to elevate our performance levels and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.Holding business leaders accountable and closely monitoring performance and risk against our Strategic Business Objectives and contractual obligations.Guide the business in performance management and risk reporting and addressing issues promptly and efficiently.Ensuring risk is appropriately communicated to the executive level within CPS (Senior Leadership Team and CPS Board) obtaining agreement and support for proposed management measures including the long-term financial model and resulting annual budget cycleBuilding strong working relationships with fellow senior managers and spearheading efforts to enhance collaboration across teams.Regularly reviewing and refining our Business Strategy, considering current challenges, future opportunities, and evolving stakeholder requirements.Acting as a sponsor and chair of the Change Board, providing guidance and oversight for improvement initiatives.Provide independent oversight to the CPS approach to network stewardship, including oversight of approach and investigations of Road Traffic IncidentsQualifications/ skills/ experience:· A relevant professional qualification and ideally Chartered / Incorporated status with a recognised and relevant UK institution.· Experience in building collaboration in teams, organisational change management and leadership.· Experience of working in a Joint Venture or similar arrangement (desirable).· Experience of Operational and Maintenance environment (desirable).· Experience of risk management (desirable).Personal attributes:· Strategic thinker, problem solver and decision maker· Agile and flexible.· Business and politically astute.· Effective strategic and transparent communication and engagement: in order to manage customer relationships and foster collaboration in teams across the business.· Strong planning and organisation skills to deliver and a continuous improvement mindset.
