15th July 2024 Job Description – Are you passionate about making a difference, driving growth and building relationships? Join an exciting, fast-paced and growing social enterprise as our Business Partnerships Development Manager, generating new leads, building new relationships and supporting our partnership development strategy. The ideal person would be enthusiastic, commercially astute, experienced in partnership development and project management with connectivity to a network of socially-minded SME and corporate businesses.
Primarily, this role will be focused on securing new leads, with value-aligned businesses, to engage with Unloc’s
Changemaker Alliance
. This includes making use of multiple channels of engagement including networking events, campaigns and targeted social value projects. Additionally, this role is critical to leading our business engagement events, in particular our Changemaker Moments programme, helping to raise the profile of Unloc across the country.
This role will enable us to grow our business network in order to fulfil our mission. All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks returning satisfactory results including an Enhanced DBS Check, a social media check and Right to Work checks. We carry out these checks as an organisation that undertakes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (SVG) Act 2006. Please note that such checks will include both spent and unspent convictions. Identify and research potential SMEs and corporate partners aligned with Unloc’s mission and objectives.
Utilise various channels such as LinkedIn, industry databases, and networking events to generate leads and opportunities.
Develop strategic outreach campaigns to initiate contact and establish rapport with prospective partners. Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing partners to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
Conduct regular meetings and communication with partners to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored partnership proposals and solutions that meet the needs of partners while aligning with Unloc’s goals. Event Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute partnership events, workshops, and networking sessions to facilitate interaction and collaboration among partners and young people.
Work closely with the marketing and communications team to promote events and ensure maximum attendance and engagement.
Evaluate the success of events through feedback analysis and metrics tracking, and implement improvements for future events. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the partnership strategy, including identifying key focus areas, target industries, and growth opportunities.
Provide insights and recommendations based on market research, industry trends, and partner feedback to inform strategic decision-making. Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of partnership activities, including lead generation efforts, partnership agreements, and event attendance.
Prepare regular reports and analysis on partnership performance, including key metrics such as revenue generated, partnership growth, and impact achieved.
Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and optimisation in partnership development efforts.
Updating the Sales Pipeline and presenting updates at the bi-weekly Business Development Team meeting Person Specification:Qualifications GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent).
Two A-Levels at grade A*-C (or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Experience and Knowledge Proven experience in business development, partnership management, or related roles, preferably within the social impact or nonprofit sector
Strong understanding of SME and corporate environments, with the ability to identify partnership opportunities and navigate complex organisational structures
Previous experience of stakeholder management.
Proven organisational skills
Previous experience of working for a social enterprise.
Previous knowledge of the education sector. Abilities and Skills Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in event planning and management, including logistics coordination, promotion, and evaluation
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
High-level communication skills including written and verbal communication.
High-level of skill when using G Suite. Other Passion for social impact and a commitment to Unloc’s mission and values
Willingness to undertake staff training and development as required.
A full UK driving licence.
