Business Intelligence Developer

Overview
Solus is seeking a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Developer to join our dynamic team.
This is an exciting time to join Solus as we're rebuilding our data warehouse in the recently released, Microsoft Fabric platform. We're looking for an experienced full stack Business Intelligence Developer who has expertise in data platforms, such as Apache Spark, SQL, Synapse, Data Factory and Power BI.
Responsibilities
Data Modelling:
Design and implement data models to support reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
ETL Development:
Develop and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into usable formats, and load it into data warehouses or data marts within the new Microsoft Fabric platform.
Report Development:
Create interactive and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau.
Data Analysis:
Perform ad-hoc data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and present findings to business stakeholders.
Performance Tuning:
Optimize queries, data models, and ETL processes for performance and efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of reports and analytics.
Data Governance:
Implement and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective BI solutions.
Documentation:
Document technical specifications, data mappings, and system configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure maintainability of BI solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in business intelligence, data analytics, and data visualization, and propose innovative solutions to enhance Solus' BI capabilities.
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and solutions, empowering them to leverage data effectively for decision-making.
Qualifications
Desired qualifications and experience:
Proven experience in business intelligence development, data warehousing, and data modelling.
Proficiency in PySpark and or SQL for querying, manipulating, and analysing data.
Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools.
Certifications in relevant BI technologies are desirable.
