We have an exciting opportunity for a
Business Intelligence Developer . This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own skills within a growing organisation. This position is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a week based in Middleton, Greater Manchester, with the option for hybrid working.
The Role
The Business Intelligence Developer will be instrumental in supporting the development of business intelligence within our UK-based independent training providers. This role involves interpreting complex data and translating it into actionable insights to drive strategic decisions and improvements across the organization.
Reporting to the Digital Development Manager, your duties will include but will not be limited to:
Data analysis and reporting
Analyse data sets from multiple sources.
Prepare and deliver regular reports, where appropriate using BI tools.
Develop interactive dashboards with business/user requirements.
Business Intelligence Tool Expertise
Create and maintain reports using BI tools.
Implement new visualization methods.
Stakeholder Communication
Convey complex data insights simply.
Develop and review user satisfaction metrics and surveys, supporting stakeholder confidence and adaption.
Data Quality and Integrity
Conduct data validation and cleaning.
Ensure ongoing data integrity.
Strategic Planning and Advisor
Assist in strategic planning.
Provide data-driven advice for planning.
Measure and analyse performance data.
Recommend optimisation strategies.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Collaborate on cross-departmental projects.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience (Essential)
Degree-level qualification in Management Information Systems (MIS), Statistics, or relevant industry experience.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation.
Experience with programming languages, especially SQL, DAX, and M QUERY.
Strong understanding of data handling and database structures.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex data effectively for organisational use.
Effective prioritisation skills, adaptable to changing plans.
Strong evaluation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Proficiency in IT with a solid business acumen.
Ability to work within tight deadlines and constraints.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience (Desired)
Knowledge of project management and PM methodologies.
Experience in app development and maintenance.
Familiarity with MIS systems (e.g., Maytas, PICS).
Experience in government and commercially funded training sectors.
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as an MIS analyst in a related industry.
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
