Harper James has a great opportunity for a Business Development Representative to join a busy, successful and growing team.We are looking for ambitious sales professionals with at least one year of phone-based sales experience.The role will be office based from our Sheffield office working as part of a supportive and thriving sales team.Who we areHarper James is a national commercial law firm designed to support entrepreneurial businesses from start-up to exit. We aspire to disrupt the model for which legal services are provided to businesses. The firm’s innovative approach to delivering highly tailored and accessible legal advice is considered genuinely different to the establishment.Harper James was founded in 2014 and continues to grow at c40%+ year on year. This financial year, more than 120 people will support more than 2,500 businesses and our turnover will exceed £13m. We expect to double in size over the next 3 years.What we offerBasic salary £25,000Generous bonus scheme based on performanceCompany healthcare schemeTraining from an experienced sales team and on the job supportFantastic opportunity to learn and progress within a growing business that has achieved 40%+ year- on-year growthMonthly team eventsWorking with some of the newest technology platforms to support you throughout your sales processReporting directly to the Head of Sales with ongoing support and trainingBased at our new office in a central location.What you'll doBe the first point of contact for all new potential businessEffectively qualify/disqualify potential clients using effective sales screeningSupport the senior team with client facing activities throughout a sales processDevelop an extensive knowledge base across a number of specialist legal areasDevelop an understanding and deliver effective sales techniques for a variety of client typesCollaborate with senior members of the sales team to learn and develop your skillsDevelop a variety of CRM management skills to maintain consistent CRM hygieneThrough outbound business develop activity identify and generate new opportunities to build a pipeline of targeted prospects.Manage a sales pipeline and sales process from first contact to client wonConsistently exceed your monthly revenue and client-based targetsWork with and develop relationships with senior solicitors throughout the firm for your specific practice areasCollaborate with a dynamic sales teamAccurately report to your manager on your activity and pipeline.What does the ideal candidate look like1+ years of relevant phone-based sales or pipeline generation experience with a proven track record for hitting goals.Excellent written and oral communicationTarget driven with a positive and resilient mindset.Able to perform in a high-pressure, high-volume sales environment.A team player who can also work independently.Self-motivated with the ability to also motivate others.Someone who is still keen to learn and develop through a variety of coaching methods.A confident and authoritative attitude as you will be having discussions with senior level decision makers about how Harper James can support their business.Able to effectively manage a pipeline using a CRM.Desire to contribute and be part of a fast-growing innovative business.Ready to apply?We’d like to start the process by inviting you to an informal chat with our Head of Talent
