The Burford Recruitment Company is looking for an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager on behalf of our client, a sophisticated advertising platform dedicated to enhancing the Cotswolds experience for visitors and locals alike. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development and sales, able to drive revenue growth through strategic advertising sales on their website and quarterly magazine. This role requires a motivated and results-oriented individual who is passionate about the Cotswolds and excels in building and maintaining client relationships.



Key Responsibilities



Business Development:




  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the advertising client base.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their advertising needs.

  • Manage a designated territory to maximise local business opportunities.



Sales Management:




  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to clients.

  • Negotiate contracts and advertising rates to maximize profitability.

  • Assist with the delivery and placement of the quarterly magazine at designated businesses, focusing initially on short-term cottage rental companies and hotels who have agreed to showcase the magazines.



Client Relations:




  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.

  • Gather feedback in your assigned territory on any changes to those businesses featured on the website or magazine to ensure the website is up-to-date and current.

  • Inspect businesses being featured and ensure they meet the standards expected by their niche market visitors.



Collaboration and Reporting:




  • Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to align advertising strategies with editorial content.

  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and stay competitive.



Skills and Attributes




  • Proven track record of success in business development and sales, preferably in the media or advertising industry.

  • Having an understanding of digital and print advertising would be advantageous.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Familiarity with the Cotswolds region and a passion for promoting its unique offerings is a plus.
