Position: Business Development Manager – Total Waste Management Solutions



Package & benefits: £45,000 - £55,000 pa basic + OTE £80-£100k pa Commission structure (% of GP paid quarterly) + 20 days holiday + 8 Statutory + Company Car – Tesla Model 3 (inc home charging point) + Company pension scheme + Regular team lunch clubs + Ongoing training & professional development + Days off for charitable work + Free Parking + Gym membership which includes all classes



Territory: Midlands area



Working hours: 37.5hrs p/wk Monday to Friday

Summary:



The Business Development Manager will manage, develop and maintain a pipeline of high value (>£1mil) new business opportunities in order to deliver profitable revenue growth for the Total Waste management Solutions Division. The post holder will be a senior business development professional, tailoring and developing successfully total waste management solutions ideally within the industrial and distribution sectors. The role is 100% new business and will not entail any account management. 



The Total Waste Management (TWM) division focuses upon delivering waste management solutions to businesses in the industrial and distribution channels and the ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of these business sectors. The TWM services offer requires the Business Development Manager to propose strategic solutions that encompass continuous improvement, cost saving, best practice and environmental sustainability - as such, the role suits a solution oriented, agile commercial lead who is focused on creating value for clients.

  • Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.

  • Working closely with existing operational and account management teams to deliver the ideal solution for the client at agreed profit levels for the business.

  • Support the dynamic and forward-thinking management team by creating accurate sales forecasts.



Here's what we require:




  • Sales and development experience, with 3 years or more experience in a comparable field-based business development role within the TWM industry.

  • Agile, solutions focused development skillset.

  • Experience of developing, managing, and implementing new business services

  • Proven track record in sales, selling high value contracted services (the role is focused on accounts worth £50K+ per annum).

  • Presentation, selling, negotiating and influential skills.

  • Analytical and able to quickly assess issues and recommend and/or implement solutions.

  • Team player, able to work effectively across operations, marketing, tender team support etc.

  • Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively.

  • Experience of building and maintaining customer relationships.

  • Determined and pragmatic approach to delivering to tight deadlines and targets.

  • The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and, most importantly, play well with others.

  • Computer literate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
