Intertek's Caleb Brett UK business provides quality and quantity measurement, inspection, and laboratory testing services to the global oil, gas, petrochemical, petroleum refining & distribution, natural gas, biofuels, marine, and chemicals industries.
Intertek is a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide. Our network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices in more than 100 countries, delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for our customers' operations and supply chains.
Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for Business Development Manager who has excellent customer service skills. We require someone who has excellent knowledge and understanding of laboratories and how they operate to develop and grow Intertek Caleb Bretts business in the UK. You will identify new clients, markets, services, and outsourcing opportunities that allow Caleb Brett to exceed its targets.
Key Requirements:
Knowledge of laboratory environments
Excellent customer service skills
Consultative sales skills
Ability to develop strong working relationships
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with key stakeholders
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Strong negotiation and presentation skills
Self-motivated and able to work alone and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
About the Role:
We are seeking an analytical Business Development Manager who has a passion for customer service. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has working knowledge of a laboratory environment. This will be a remotely based position however you will be required to have regular visits to our West Thurrock site so you will ideally live within driving distance of this location.
Responsibilities:
Grow sales of the Caleb Brett business in the UK by exceeding targets
Key account management
Develop market knowledge to understand potential client groups and the decision makers to target and grow relationships
Visit existing customers to develop relationships and in turn grow existing accounts
Align to the strategic growth plans of the business line and wider Intertek team
Identify and develop new opportunities for Caleb Brett to expand into new markets, service lines or outsourcing services
Attend and exhibit at conferences and events in line with the sales and marketing plan
Achieve personal targets for conversion of new business
Utilise the Intertek CRM to improve market intelligence and understanding
Maintain awareness of, and work to, the quality and ethical standards of Intertek always
Develop relationships with Intertek branches and understand the services they provide
Work closely with the marketing team to deliver on the marketing plan
Collaborate with Management and Business Development staff across Intertek to gain an awareness of our broader capabilities and service offerings
