Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and expansion within the logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing sectors, with a particular focus in the region of Scotland.

As a Business Development Manager, you will combine internal and external (field) sales strategies to generate project leads and secure commercial fit-out projects, including pallet racking, shelving, mezzanine floors, and industrial fitouts.

Our client has strong relationships in Scotland, and with natural growth they have decided to focus on this as key territory for expansion. This is a fully remote role, with a need to visit the head office in Leeds for key meetings. If you are an experienced Business Development Manager and have knowledge with key Scottish industries and clients, and wider fit out storage solutions this could be a fantastic opportunity for you.

You must have a background within solution, consultative sales and have operated at senior level, influencing and working with key stakeholders, decision makers. In return our client offers strong career development/progression.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify decision-makers within prospect organizations through various channels, including telephone/online research and industry contacts.
  • Develop and maintain a robust network of trusted prospects to generate project enquiries and referrals.
  • Meet and exceed predetermined targets for turnover and profit.
  • Design customized sales pitches to address the unique needs of each customer.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing team on competitor analysis and market trends.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate sales reports in a timely manner.
  • Cultivate strong and lasting relationships with customers and potential clients through face-to-face meetings and ongoing communication.
  • Attend and contribute to in-house sales meetings at Head Office in Leeds.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in generating new business through telephone-based sales.
  • Strong sales background and proven ability to open new accounts.
  • Preferable experience within storage solution, fitout proposals.
  • Open communicator with people at all levels, with strong influencing, relationship building and networking skills.
  • Committed team player.
  • Confident decision maker.
