A specialist renewables division within a national group of electrical distribution companies is looking for a proactive and results-focused Business Development Manager to join their growing business in Portsmouth. The Portsmouth location is extremely successful, being the largest and most established within the renewables division, and is offering this excellent opportunity for a confident salesperson to continue driving growth and earn lucrative profit share rewards.
You'll be joining a successful electrical wholesaler who already employs over 4,000 people across hundreds of UK locations. The renewables sector of the business is growing rapidly with high demand and fast stock turnover of their products. With an annual turnover exceeding �1.7 billion, they're a company that continues to grow through acquisitions and the high-quality service they provide to their clients.
Role Responsibilities
The business is looking for an ambitious, outgoing and proactive Business Development Manager based in the Portsmouth area. You should be an experienced salesperson (with at least 1-2 years experience and ideally from a renewables /sustainable electrical solutions/electrical wholesale background) with a strong ability to capitalise on opportunities to maximise profitability.
As a Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Being at the forefront of winning new business (60-70 leads/month)
  • Collaborating with and passing new business customers to the Internal Sales team
  • Meeting sales targets and increasing profitability
  • Presenting, communicating and negotiating with a range of customers
  • Managing your customer accounts and diary
  • Working hours are rotational shifts between 7am-4pm and 8.30am-5pm, with paid overtime available
