Job DescriptionWe have an exciting newly created role with a growing, cutting-edge medical technology business based in Edinburgh. Carcinotech is a MedTech company with expertise in manufacturing 3D printed living tumours using patient-derived biopsies, primary cells, immune cells and cancer stem cells. Carcinotech’s advanced models provide a platform for rapid, ethical, and accurate drug screening, pre-clinical and personalised medicine testing.Working with global partners, leading pharma companies, surgeons, pathologists, clinicians, and industry leaders, the goal is to accelerate drug screening and enable the delivery of more effective cancer treatments to market. Access to Carcinotech’s robotic and automated manufacturing allows for accelerated production, with models offering high-throughput capabilities.The expanding start-up company has a brand new role for a Business Development Executive to develop and grow with the company. This customer facing role will suit an early-career sales professional looking to broaden their client prospecting and relationship building skills with a global customer base.The role will serve as an important link between our Marketing and Sales functions to find and qualify new business opportunities from marketing generated leads, networking, and self-directed research. Your contribution will be vital to our efforts to expand Carcinotech’s public profile and assist with commercial growth. The role:closely with the CEO, you will be responsible for researching prospective customers, mapping relevant target companies, reviewing competitors, analysing market trends and driving marketing activities;sales qualified leads from marketing generated contacts and personal prospecting efforts (cold emails, cold calling, and networking (social outreach and live events))the first point of contact for all inbound leads.Answering technical questions, developing an understanding of the customers business objectives, scientific application, and pain points.and exceed quarterly lead generation targets.a strong understanding of products, services and key selling points, becoming fluent in relating the technology to our customer’s applications.with pipeline management, tracking prospects, following up on leads, and ensuring timely progression through the sales stages.accurate sales forecasts and regular reports on sales activities, account performance, and customer feedbackclosely with Marketing to develop sales collateral based on applications and industries to engage new customers.events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions, where requiredPerson Specifications:Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityResults-oriented mindset with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.Analytical and creative thinker, able to interpret data and create scenarios for decision making.Well-developed interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiation.Collaborative, team player who drives effective solutionsPublic-facing roles, maintaining positive relationships and delivering customer satisfactionAbility to communicate complex scientific data in easily-understood content and present to interested partiesCreative approach to problem-solvingEducation: Msc or PHD in Life Sciences Discipline – Oncology/3D organoid/ Drug Discovery is desirable
