Client-facing | Hybrid | Permanent | Technical consultancy offering market leading salary + ability to work on nationally critical projects!Role:Join this established organisation as a business consultant and embark on a dynamic career where you'll support a diverse portfolio of esteemed UK public sector and defence organisations. Your help will enable them to optimise their business processes, plan effectively for the future, secure benefits from programme and project delivery and maximise their return on investments in technology and facilities.Due to the nature of client-side work, some travel within the UK is expected. Around 2-3 days of your time will be spent working alongside clients at their respective sites - typically on long term projects located near to London or Bristol, otherwise working remotely. As you will work significantly on client site, you will deal directly with the client, liaising with stakeholders and assignment delivery. Responsibilities:As a consultant, either working independently or as part of a larger team, you will engage in various assignments, which include:Creating business cases and assisting clients in securing the necessary approvals.Developing strategies for future service delivery that align with clients' overall business strategies and needs.Supporting large technology procurements and new facility investments, including drafting procurement documents, crafting evaluation strategies, and assessing bids.Defining and managing benefits, metrics, and management information to enable clients to track their return on investment both financially and operationally.Producing user and service requirements documentation.Delivering concept phase, options analysis, and investment appraisal products, including cost models.Ensuring that proposed technical solutions to business problems are fit for purpose through client-side assurance.Acting as product owner/lead user on behalf of clients, providing suppliers with a definitive business perspective.Delivering business change/transformation products, such as stakeholder engagement management plans, communication plans and products, training needs analyses, and training packages.Experience:Business or systems analysis methods and tools, such as BPMN and UML.Agile and Lean standards, methodologies, and approaches, including Scrum, Kanban, and the GDS service manual.Programme and project management methods like MSP, PRINCE2, DSDM, and the Scaled Agile Framework.Public sector best practice guidance, such as ITIL, the OGC toolkit, and better business cases.Standard methodologies for:Requirements capture and analysisFeasibility studies and business case developmentCost modelling and investment appraisalProcurement and contracting strategiesExperience within the UK public sector is desirable, particularly in business areas, programmes, or projects that are directly linked to technology. Equally favoured is if you are intellectually agile, proactive, and self-motivated.This role requires you to either hold or be eligible for UK security clearance. In conjunction, you must have the right to work in the UK.Company:
