The IT Strategy & Delivery TeamThe Business Analysts form part of the IT Strategy, Architecture & Analysis team. This function sits within the IT Strategy and Delivery Team. This team is responsible for setting the direction for the use and investment in technology that supports Addleshaw Goddard’s business strategy, and delivery of the new IT solutions that underpin the required business change. The IT Strategy and Delivery Team is made up of an IT Strategy, Architecture & Analysis function, Programme & Portfolio Management, Project Engineering, Applications Development, Business Intelligence and Testing.The Role of the Business AnalystThe Business Analyst will be involved at an early stage in the Project Lifecycle to help define the drivers, objectives, scope and high level requirements. The Business Analyst will also have overall responsibility for delivery of the Business Analyst deliverables associated the projects and detailed analysis activities assigned to them.The Business Analyst will demonstrate significant practical experience of analysis methodologies, tools and techniques, obtained across a wide variety of projects.Alongside project work, the Business Analyst will also contribute to the continual improvement of the BA team as a whole identifying, owning and leading initiatives.ExperienceWe are looking for a highly capable and experienced Business Analyst who can demonstrate:•Experience in eliciting requirements, using techniques such as interviews, document analysis, data analysis, and observation.•Experience in documenting requirements as user stories utilising Azure Dev Ops.•Experience in facilitating and presenting at workshops with senior business stakeholders.•A proven track record of successful delivery of business change activity.•Experience in process modelling techniques and notations, e.g., MS Visio, BPMN, use cases, entity models, data and information models, As Is and To Be process models etc.•Experience in delivering process improvement using techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean etc.•Experience of working within a technology enabled business change lifecycle/ framework.•Experience of performing Business Analysis within both Waterfall and Agile software development approaches.•Excellent written and oral communication skills.•A strong understanding of modern technologies, systems and processes.•That they are capable of delivering in a high- pressure, dynamic environment.The PersonThe successful applicant for the role of Business Analyst will be / have:•Educated to degree level (or equivalent through demonstrable experience).•BCS BA qualifications, e.g., The BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (desirable).•Accustomed to delivering projects using Project Management Qualification- Prince2, Agile or others (or equivalent through demonstrable experience).•Organised and structured in their approach to defining the drivers, objectives, scope and high level requirements.•Customer focussed and pro-active in building relationships and gaining trust from senior business stakeholders and technology delivery personnel.•Clear and concise in communicating with stakeholders.•Business focused in providing practical and commercial solutions to problems.•Determined and motivated to succeed, whilst being flexible and having a positive can-do attitude.•A team player, treating colleagues with understanding and respect.•Innovative in finding new solutions to new sets of challenges in a dynamic and changing environment, and driving continuous improvement.As a firm, we aim to provide a positive experience to everyone who works here and our focus on financial, lifestyle and wellbeing benefits ensures that this experience goes beyond the nine-to-five.
