Business Analyst (Business Intelligence Team) Data Warehouse Build – REF 595 A rapidly expanding business that requires the establishing of a BI function to ensure that it drives consistency in reporting and data definitions across the Group as it expands, and ensure that the business is supplied with innovative, relevant and actionable reporting to support a data-driven decision making culture throughout the Group. The BI Business Analyst will support the Business Intelligence team develop its BI Business requirements gathering and elicitation process, create the artefacts needed to build the BI solutions and support the business and stakeholders for their BI experience, The BI Business Analyst will support the BI Team in providing high quality, timely and accurate business analysis across all business functions to enable measured decision making, and support the day to day operations and continued growth of the business. You’ll be responsible for: Managing and liaising with business stakeholders, SMEs and senior management Holding business workshops, stakeholder analysis, working closely with PMO and BI Project Manager Developing and working with existing artefacts and ensure all processes, business logic, transformation of logic, data definitions and process mapping information is articulated in to the BI artefacts so the business and IT both use and benefit from it Ensuring robust governance on all BI documentation with security processes adhered to Ensuring BI documentation does not allow for multiple version of the truth reporting within the business Preparing As-Is and To-Be gap analysis, create diagrams and demonstrate benefits of To-Be model Working closely with the data governance team and ensure data governance principles underpin all business process, changes, and new requests Ensuring BI requirements can be traced and tracked through the development process, and any changes are managed and reflected through all documentation Ensuring legacy report consolidation and governed decommissioning where appropriate Working closely with BI Delivery Analysts to ensure reports are used and remain fit for purpose Constructively challenging stakeholders requests for BI making alternative recommendations You’ll need to evidence the following qualifications, skills and experience: Experience of requirements gathering for complete end to end BI solution delivery Experience of requirements gathering particularly for the data warehouse build Ability to interpret data to provide insight and direction based on findings Experience of building logical data models will be desired Knowledge of BI tools, such as Qlik, SSRS, Business Objects will be desired Knowledge of Dimensional Modelling – Kimball methodology will be desired Ability to rapidly understand business processes in detail Business/Numerical Honours degree or QBE or equivalent Effective communicator with good organisational and prioritising skills Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel, Power Point, etc) Experience of presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders Good understanding of BI development life cycle The Benefits: Competitive salary with annual bonus Contributory pension 3% flexible benefits - including cycle to work, critical illness, dental insurance, childcare vouchers, travel insurance, dining club, retail discounts and the option to buy up to one week’s worth of holiday subject to start date
