Building Safety Technician

Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Building Safety Technician on an initial 3 month basis to assist with data collection and analysis to support building and fire safety strategies, and works relating to fire safety risk assessments and creation of building safety cases.

Essential Experience

• Relevant level 3 qualification e.g. NVQ level 3, BTEC, relevant A levels etc. and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and understanding through experience.


• Ability to interrogate and analyse complex data sets across a range of IT systems and to construct and manipulate spreadsheets to assist in analysis, forecasting, planning and reporting.


• Knowledge and understanding of the principles of project management and demonstrable project management skills with the ability to plan and manage concurrent projects to achieve desired outcomes.


• High level of literacy and numeracy


• Working knowledge of effective business support systems and procedures.


• Ability to manage a complex workload and to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks.


• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to deliver work to agreed targets and standards.


• Ability to solve problems and to make balanced decisions on behalf of service area.


• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.


• Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in ways that promote understanding including the ability to converse with citizens and provide advice in accurate spoken English, or through a BSL interpreter.


• Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.


• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent


• including the following: Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate.
