12 Month Fixed Term Contract A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Building Safety Manager (BSM) to join our successful team at Salix Homes. We are looking someone with a passion for developing and delivering systems and processes that ensure the safety of high-risk buildings, our customer, and staff in addition to promoting building safety, ensuring regulatory communication processes are managed effectively.The main purpose of the role is to ensure the organisation delivers on its commitment to the implementation of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and any changes to Building Regulation and work collaboratively with, Government, internal team managers and external partners.As the Building Safety Manager, you will:* Lead on developing the organisations Building Safety Strategy.* To engage with customers and stakeholders in the development of the organisations building safety plans and actively manage customer engagement in relation to building safety.* Lead the organisations response to high rise fire safety through the development of a bespoke fire management plan for each individual high-rise block to ensure compliance with legislation.* To provide regular performance reports to Board and SMT on the impacts of any new legislation on Salix Homes and its customers.* Ensure the effective management of building safety delivery team* To liaise with other teams to ensure the efficient management of the organisations Building Information Model to ensure compliance with regulation,* To maintain and monitor financial expenditures and budgets related to the implementation of changes to our approach to Building Safety.* To work with key stakeholders (contractors, local and national government, customers, GMFRS) to introduce a sustainable and affordable solution to fire and structural safety* To lead the Mandatory Occurrence Reporting process within the organisationWhat we’re looking for* In depth knowledge of the Fire Safety Act 2021, the Building Safety Act 2022, and the current Building Regulations specific to building safety* Have obtained or working towards the appropriate building management qualification.* Experience of working in a supervisory role in residential building safety or statutory compliance* Experience of producing Safety Cases and Safety Case reports for High Rise Residential Buildings in scope* Experience of developing and delivering effective and efficient customer and stakeholder engagement systems and processes* Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams in the social housing sector and the wider building safety environment* Demonstrates an ability to build strong working relationships with partners and colleagues on a one-to-one basis and through strategic and operational forums* Ability to interpret and present data to improve performance and demonstrate regulatory compliance.* Ability to maintain an understanding of current legislation, regulatory changes, approved codes of practice and relevant guidance documents and devise strategies to ensure compliance.What we offer as a company* Annual Salary of up to £49,498* Hybrid Working – (a minimum of 3 days working in the office)* Up to 34 day’s holiday + bank holidays* Flexi Time* Flexible Working and Family friendly policies* Generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme* Life Assurance worth 3 x annual salary* Health Cash Plan which also provides a range of discounts including discounted gym membership* An inclusive and positive colleague culture* Accredited Good Employment Charter employerSalix Homes are proud to have been awarded membership to the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter and we will constantly strive to improve working conditions for our colleagues.Salix Homes is an Equal Opportunities Employer and opposes all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination.
