Build Engineer

The Build Engineer will deliver all ongoing Sitec build requirements across the Region. Day to day work to vary from blow/spicing/testing to patching and MDU build depending on current requirements

The key aspects of the role are:

• Blow / Splice / Test of fibre cables across MDU and Infill workstreams


• Physical build on MDU projects


• Patching of CF network at SN/ASN level


• Fault finding across live networks.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Working knowledge of fibre networks and PIA

Desirable:

• SA001


• SA002 S7, S8


• History of working on BT, CityFibre and Virgin Media Network


• Understanding of MDU build


• Contractor management

Skills & Knowledge:

Essential:

• Blow, Splice and testing experience


• IOLM/OTDR/Light meter reading

Desirable:

• Able to read civils diagrams


• Understanding of As built documentation

Person Specification:

• Must have a current UK Driving Licence


• Must be prepared to travel, with the occasional stay away from home


• Self starter who is keen to learn and complete work to a high specification


• Able to work alone and within a team


• Can do attitude
