Our Client is looking to recurit a part-time Btec IQA - 3 days a week based at their Birmingham Site.



Main purpose of the job 




  • To maintain and lead on the provision of quality assurance and control systems to cover apprenticeships and higher education across the two training Centre sites.

  • To effectively maintain, monitor and lead on quality assurance, teaching and learning, and certification. To act as a key contact between the centre and a range of Awarding Organisations in relation to monitoring activities.

  •  Our client is seeking an established education compliance professional, with strong experience in the Apprentices & Skills and Higher Education sector.



Key responsibilities




  • Fulfilling the role of Awarding Body Centre Coordinator for EAL, Pearson, City and Guilds, ILM and CMI.

  • Manage the BTEC/HNC tutors offering advice and guidance when undertaking internal verification of learners work

  • Train tutors on upcoming changes within the qualification

  • Assisting Programme Managers and delivery staff to ensure teaching and learning is compliant with Ofsted and Awarding Body and the Centre’s standards/criteria.

  • Lead on Awarding Body visits, preparing and disseminating proposed outcome and putting an action plan in place.

  • Ensuring the standards and other related requirements of Awarding Organisations and external agencies are met and exceeded.

  • Develop and follow internal policies, procedures and documentation for the carrying out and maintenance of quality systems in line with Awarding Organisation requirements.

  • Co-ordinate the timely registration and certification claims for learners.

  • Maintain appropriate records of quality assurance, assessment, registration and certification activities in line with Awarding Organisation requirements.

  • Facilitate standardisation activities to support the continuous improvement of qualification and unit delivery.

  • Ensure all assessment documentation, maintained by IQA’s and Assessors/tutors, is complete, up-to-date and legible.

  • Conduct observations of Assessors conducting the assessment process.

  • Conduct observation of IQA’s conducting the quality assurance process.

  • Conduct teaching and learning observations of instructors carrying out core delivery.

  • Conduct learner interviews to monitor and analyse the quality of the assessment process and learner journey.

  • Disseminate information and feedback resulting from monitoring activities and ensure all actions are addressed by the indicated timescales.

  • Undertaking any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the limits of your capability.



Technical knowledge and experience



Level 5 (or higher) qualification in Management or equivalent demonstrable experience



Level 3 (or higher) teacher training qualification e.g. PGCE, PTTLS, AET - essential



Assessor qualification, such as D32/D33, A1 or AVA - essential



Verifier qualification e.g. D34, V1 or IQA – essential



Experienced in compliance for Maths and English GCSEs - desirable



Excellent IT skills (MS Office).



An understanding of subject learning requirements for engineering and manufacturing programmes would be highly advantageous



Experience of working within a complex/multi-tiered work based training provider



Knowledge and Recent experience of working in work based provider or college environment. experience of compliance, quality, verification, auditing and reporting



Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people



Full clean driving licence and own vehicle.
