With the growth in popularity of people wanting to learn British Sign Language (BSL) and some schools now looking to offer BSL, we are recruiting for a BSL TA who can adopt their skills to aid the development of children with hearing impairment.
Your new role
An Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' Primary School situated in the London borough of Wandsworth, South West London are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is trained in British Sign Language (Level 2 and above). This school in particular, has a big SEND department for students with visual and hearing impairment.
However, they have students joining in April 2024 who will need 1:1 support and that person must be trained in BSL and able to use it confidently, as this will be your only form of communication with the student.
This is a full-time support role. Working hours are 8.30am to 3:30/4:00pm.
