Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with hearing impairments, assisting them in understanding and engaging with curriculum materials.
• Facilitate communication between students and teachers by interpreting spoken language into British Sign Language (BSL) and vice versa.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate the needs of students with hearing impairments.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to participate and express themselves.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL), ideally holding a Level 2 or above qualification.
• Experience working with individuals with hearing impairments or in a similar educational setting is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
