Salary and Benefits:

• Paying £30,000 - £35,000 per year depending on experience.
• Accommodation provided as part of the package - a high quality, brand new three-bedroom house on the farm.

About The Company:

An opportunity has arisen for you to manage a highly desirable family run poultry business in the heart of North Yorkshire, nestled between the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Running alongside a 650-acre arable enterprise including newly planted woodland.

The Job Role Details:

This is an excellent opportunity for you, if you are wanting to run your own site and to work for someone who makes you feel valued and appreciated in your work, working for a family run business.

You will be working on a modern broiler farm, rearing 260,000-day-old chicks for the independent wholesale market.

The farm utilises the most up to date computer technology and livestock monitoring cameras to assist caring for the young birds; and is well kept and prides itself on high standards of stockmanship, welfare and attention to detail.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the poultry site.

Key Responsibilities:
You will…

• Daily inspection and walking of the birds with the Assistant Manager.
• Ensure excellent bird health and welfare.
• Regular communication/liaising with the farms veterinary practice.
• Feed and water management including allocation of feed deliveries.
• Liaised with contractors, suppliers and the planning team for chick placement and bird depopulation.
• Ensure excellent production performance and tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Ventilation and lighting management.
• Vaccination of the birds.
• Identify system faults and areas that need improvement.
• Minor maintenance across the farm.
• Carry out tasks including record keeping for Red Tractor Assurance Standards.
• Oversee birds leaving the farm at depopulation and depletion.
• Carry out site management duties when required.
• Attend poultry events and meetings to advance career progression and your poultry industry knowledge.

• Progressive, forward thinking and a proactive mindset.
• Enthusiastic and caring attitude towards animals.
• A valid UK driving license.
• NVQ Level 3 in Poultry Production.
