Human Health Project‘s (HHP) foundation is built upon peer-to-peer health information, education, and support. Through our programs, our objective is to empower individuals locally and globally to manage their health.HHP is seeking a Broadcast Journalist In this role, you will interview patients and caregivers about their experiences navigating the healthcare system. Since video is a powerful tool for telling and sharing patient journeys, the goal of the video series is to highlight HHP’s Patient Advocacy programme, convey the importance of being an advocate for yourself and those in your care, and to demonstrate how patient advocates serve a critical role in receiving the best healthcare.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Generating ideas for stories involving patient experiencesInvestigating resources to find interview participantsResearching potential stories through personal contacts, the internet and other sourcesDeciding on the most appropriate angle to approach the storyBooking and briefing intervieweesRecording interviews - in person, via telephone, or conducting them liveSpeaking directly to a video cameraFinding appropriate images or sounds - either by recording fresh material, or retrieving them from library stockWriting introductions and scripting material for questions to be askedAdapting material for use in other formats and programmes.Helping to bring awareness and support for HHP's programmesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Film, and/or other related field3 - 5 years experience of writing or editing in television/broadcast environment3 - 5 years producing professional broadcasting marketing/promotions/creative services experiences preferred Requirements:Excellent news-gathering and reporting skillsArticulate, professional, credible, & ethicalClear and professional broadcasting voiceCompassionate and caring mannerPersuasiveness and the ability to draw information from peopleKnowledge of what makes a compelling story and how best to present it to particular audiencesExcellent writing and verbal communication skillsAbility to think creatively and see all potential angles of a storyEffective under the pressure of deadlinesObjective, fair and balanced in the treatment of storiesTechnical knowledge and skills in using a range of audio and/or visual equipmentAttention to detail and extremely accurateKnowledge of the law, ethics and industry regulation as they affect medical journalistsProfessional appearanceExperience within the healthcare industryStrong rapport building skills and the ability to develop relationships at all levels including patients, patient groups and other health organizationsHighly self-motivatedTeam player with a flexible approachMotivated and passionate about HHP’s missionPlease drop us an email after applying, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!More InformationWe request all the applicants to include their email address in the body of their email as we are receiving emails from applicants without the email address in the email header.
