page.About the roleThis is a great opportunity to join an early-stage climate tech startup and learn a great deal about climate change and the carbon offsetting space. We’re looking to fill our first ever brand role, so we’re hoping you are a self-motivated, entrepreneurial designer who thrives in an early-stage startup setup, being hands-on and ready to bring the Abatable brand to life.You’ll be joining Abatable at an exciting time, playing a defining role in shaping our brand identity, creating and evolving guidelines to achieve consistency across the various customer touchpoints. You’ll work in close collaboration with the Product Designer, Marketing Lead, the founders and other internal and external stakeholders to execute projects using a variety mediums and platforms.Abatable is a B2B-focussed business operating in a relatively new, volatile and quickly growing voluntary carbon market. To be successful in this role will require building a good understanding of our customers and partners and their needs to clearly communicate our mission, what we do and how we help them.What you’ll be doingFurther developing the Abatable brand and visual identityCollaborating closely with the Product Designer in the team, ensuring that the visual brand identity is consistent across all touchpoints, products, marketing materials and servicesSupporting multiple teams across the business with various requirements by contributing ideas and creating various digital assets, including social media graphics, email newsletters, presentations, expert reports and landing pages.Owning our website’s design and visual identity and ensuring it communicates our services and approachContributing to our design processes, our design system and improving scalabilityManage freelance designers as needed and review work to provide guidanceBuilding the identity of our employer branding to help us hire more awesome peopleWho we’re looking forYou have a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills and advanced level knowledge of design principles, including best practices using typography and colourYou have a strong understanding of branding, marketing and customer behaviour being able to take into account the commercial aspect of your workYou posses excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.You have a proven track record of independently leading large brand projects with little guidanceYou love your craft and pay high attention to quality while being able to ideate iteratively and support swift improvementsYou’ve previously worked in a startup or at an agency supporting startupsYou’re experienced with industry-standard design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and FigmaYou must be eligible to work in the UK, as we are unable to sponsor a visa at this timeGood to haveYou have previous experience working in climate or sustainability related fieldsYou have a design or technical degreeIllustration, animation and video editing experience is desirableWhat we offerThe choice to structure your compensation package, with a competitive salary (£54,000 - £60,000) and a generous share options packageFlexible working arrangements; work from home or anywhere, whenever you wantHolidays: 25 days holiday (excl. bank holidays) + one bonus for your birthdayHealth insurance: including mental health cover to holistically support your wellbeingFamily leave policy: 26 weeks at 100% pay for the primary caregiver and 13 weeks at 100% pay for the secondary caregiver, plus unpaid leave and flexible return to work arrangementsPension enrolment for all employeesLearning and Development budget of £500 per yearCycle to work schemeDefine our future benefits - We are still super early stage - As we bring in more funding, benefits will grow to include healthcare, flexible work space, regular meet-ups.
