Branch Manager

Our client is a highly customer focussed Building Society and are recruiting for a Branch Manager to lead their newly refurbished flagship branch in Stockport.  Hours of work are Mon – Fri (so no weekends), Hours are 8.45am-5pm.

You will provide day to day management of the Branch team (of 4) who provide customer service and administration support for savings, mortgage and investment product enquiries.  You will ensure the efficient running of the Branch team, continually improving performance and professional standards of customer service, along with processes. 

In addition to this, you will actively engage with local businesses and charities, using the branch to host events and a place to meet, a hub for the local community.  Responsibilities include: 

• Ensure you and your team deliver excellent customer experience through friendly, attentive, personal service, treating customers as individuals, and thereby upholding the Society’s brand values and reputation.


• Promote products and services within your local community and interact with businesses and charities for further opportunities. 


• Implement and maintain continuous branch activities to achieve all branch targets that also incorporate the wider branch community.  Demonstrate and role model clear leadership, support, and guidance to your direct reports.


• Conduct regular 1:1s and agree and review action plans and objectives, including personal development plans to keep team members trained and motivated to meet their personal and corporate objectives.


• Roll out branch training sessions as required.

Skills & experiences required of the Branch Manager

• Leadership experience, ideally within a financial services setting, experience of a retail banking branch environment would be advantageous


• Sales / Networking capabilities


• Flexible and adaptable to change.


• Highly customer focused with strong interpersonal skills.
