We are recruiting for a Brachytherapy Team Lead who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.As part of the clinical leadership team you will act as a clinical expert and operational lead for one of the defined service areas within the department.Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) is one of Europe's leading and largest cancer treatment centres. External Beam radiotherapy equipment comprises of seven linear accelerators including four Truebeam units, with the centre currently in the process of installing two Halcyon and an Ethos linear accelerator all with Hypersight and IDENTIFY. This technology supports a comprehensive stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and adaptive radiotherapy programmePre treatment includes two dedicated CT simulators with the most recent installation a Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro.A High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy suite is also situated at the cancer centre with a dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner.In addition, 15% of basic salary,subject to a minimum payment of 4,314 and a maximum payment of 5,436Our Values are Include, Respect and Improve. It is important that you understand and refer to our values during your recruitment process and beyond!Main duties of the jobYou will provide leadership, support and guidance to junior members of staff and participate in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.You will promote high standards of patient care and treatment delivery and participate in staff training and education, in conjunction with relevant section leads.You will be required to manage Therapy Radiography staff and co-ordinate clinical workload, monitor serviceability of equipment and contribute to the maintenance of the department quality system.Act as point of contact for information, referrals and advice on linac group.Participate in clinical audit, research, development and deputise for Superintendent (treatment delivery/ pre-treatment) when required and provide leadership, support, guidance and advice to junior staff and students.About usAt East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, we are proud of the range of general and specialist services we provide and our 6,000 or so dedicated staff ensure our patients get the best care.
