A superb opportunity has arisen for a Rent Bond Scheme Officer who is seeking a new opportunity working for a Local Authority in Greater Manchester.

The responsibility of the Rent Bond Scheme Officer is to develop and administer a rental Bond Scheme in accordance with the aim of preventing homelessness and to maximise private rented sector accommodation availability to meet housing needs.

Your main duties will include;

  • To develop and administer a rental Bond Scheme, including the development of appropriate policies and procedures.
  • To establish, develop and maintain close working relationships with private landlords operating or potential new landlords to encourage landlords to provide access to quality accommodation.
  • To increase the availability of shared accommodation within the borough by establishing relationships with landlords.
  • Identify potential sources of funding available or opportunities for cooperative working with partner agencies and landlords.
  • To interview and assess the needs of people applying for the scheme and make referrals to other agencies where appropriate.

Required Skills;

  • Experience in delivering outcomes and experience of working to targets and successful delivery.
  • An understanding of housing and other policy through working in a local authority, central government, housing association or similar environment.
  • An understanding of the issues within the private rented sector.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework governing private landlords and the private rented sector.
