It can get busy, but the culture, training and friendly teams are great here.We have an exciting opportunity for a Claims Handler to join our Bodily Injury team. In this role you'll be responsible for the validation, investigation, negotiation and fulfilment of bodily injury motor claims, and any other associated losses. You'll proactively resolve outstanding investigations to choose the most appropriate settlement route, optimising revenue generation and/or cost control opportunities.What you'll be doingPro-actively managing the end-to-end process of all third-party injury claims to establish and maintain accurate claim reserves up to £50,000 (within your own financial handling authority) to manage the overall expenditure throughout the lifecycle of the claim.Pro-active triage of bodily injury claims within best practice and legislative and regulatory guidelines, validating policy cover, conducting full investigation of claims considering complex injury triggers, liability and fraudulent claims.Effective gathering of information to enable early arrival at the correct liability decision considering economic settlement, pro-actively secure appropriate recoveries to limit business exposure.Handle and deal with all SCP and MOJ Stage litigation up to a value of £25,000 within court deadlines, liaising with Counsel as appropriate. Refer all other litigated cases (non MOJ) requiring legal intervention to our Proactive Partner.Manage and own the customer experience (including third party), always ensuring adherence to the principles of Consumer Duty.Manage and maintain effective relationship with both internal (Hire, Damage Management, Counter Fraud, Underwriting) and external (Rehabilitation providers, Medical experts, Counsel, Forensic Accountants, Brokers) stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal and external policies, procedures and governance, whilst controlling indemnity spend.Maintain an awareness of solicitor behaviours and changes in relevant legislation to understand the marketplace and BI handling approaches to provide suggestions for improvements.Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriate to your role, in line with the DLG risk framework.What you'll needExperience handling Bodily Injury claims is strongly preferred.Ways of workingThis role will be based out of our Bromley office.
