Job Advert
We are looking for a patient and caring volunteer to visit a gentleman in his early 60s who lives in in Crosby. His previous volunteer has sadly retired. This gentleman has profound and multiple learning disabilities, is an energetic chap and loves to go out for a walk. He enjoys his food, 80's TV shows and the people close to him. By accompanying him, you will enable him to spend time doing things he loves.
For this role it would be helpful if you had some experience of working or spending time with adults or young people with autism or other additional needs. It would especially suit someone studying Learning Disabilities or Nursing. If you don't have experience but would like to find out more please email us or apply and we'll be in touch to talk about the role in more detail. Visits will last around a couple of hours depending on what you do together.
About this service
We offer a lifelong befriending service for people with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of individual people with a learning disability.
Our visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing.
In many cases, our visitor is the only person in someone's life who isn't paid to be there for them.
