Role descriptionUntap is looking for a Technician/ Research assistant to accelerate the development and validation of our new early infection detection technology. You will collaborate with our Mechanical and design team to further the design, prototype, and develop our products ready for market. We are especially keen to meet candidates with experience working within regulated environments such as life sciences and medical devices as well as candidates with experience in multidisciplinary projects. The suitable candidate will be excited to work on innovative technologies across interdisciplinary teams, delivering a product that has a radical and lasting impact on improving community health. Responsibilities ·
Experienced working in a wet lab.·
Following protocols.·
Molecular biology skills.·
Handling RNA and DNA samples while ensuring contamination control.·
Experienced in RNA/DNA extraction and purification techniques.·
Working with Laboratory equipment such as Nanodrops, Real-Time PCR.·
Analysing qPCR data.·
Proficiency in working with Microsoft apps (Excel, word, PowerPoint, and OneNote).·
Keen to learn new skills.·
Familiar with the Start-up environment.·
Flexible and willing to adapt to handle different tasks.·
Managing orders for the wet lab and relations with suppliers.·
Experienced in producing lab reports and generating documentation.·
Potential to represent Untap Health at trade fairs, customer presentations and when working with suppliers.
The ideal candidate ·
Has B.Sc. with 2-5 years' experience in molecular biology and microbiology.·
Experience and knowledge in wastewater sampling.·
Understands the development, testing and regulation of the development process.·
Motivated by products delivering real impacts for health and wellbeing.·
Confident working with interdisciplinary teams, and enthusiastic to have a huge impact within a small but quickly growing team.Desirable but not essential ·
Has worked with wastewater samples.·
Has worked on micro-fluidics previously.·
