Position: BIM Manager
Location: Cambridgeshire
Salary Guide: £50-65k (Neg DOE), Car/Allowance, and excellent benefits package
Our Client: Is a Tier 1 design and build engineering contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a significant proportion of Anglian Waters programme of clean and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
The Project: The Cambridge relocation project is the design & build of a modern, low carbon wastewater treatment plant to provide vital services for the community and environment which will recycle water and nutrients, produce green energy and help Greater Cambridge to grow sustainably.
Known as the Cambridge Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Relocation Project, Anglian Water will work with their partners to help deliver this fantastic opportunity for the Greater Cambridgeshire area. The relocation would make the site of the existing WWTP available to form part of the development of a new low-carbon city district. The site is Cambridges last major brownfield site, and the wider North East Cambridge district proposals envisage creating around 8,350 homes and 15,000 jobs over the next 20 years.
The Role:As the BIM Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the projects BIM360 Platform and complimentary systems, ensuring that they are operational and continue to evolve to support the project. You will be responsible for our clients BIM strategy, working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure this is suitably managed to deliver their requirements. Ensure that the all-team members are supported and provide the highest standards of work.
You will be responsible for the checking and reviewing of all deliverables produced by other engineers and supply chain to ensure that all processes and procedures are followed. You will be required to coach and mentor junior and less experienced members of the team. You will collaborate with key stakeholders and assist the multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure the project solution is providing best value for business through being fit for purpose and completed on time, to budget, and to the correct quality. You will be a key contact for users, site teams, stakeholders and the client, keeping them updated with platform changes/updates and ensuring that their input is considered on our strategy.
Youll be a BIM360 ambassador for the project and work across the alliances to help raise the profile of the platform and ensuring that they progress in a cohesive, joined up direction.
Responsibilities:The current design is at an outline status, and you will be leading this discipline through delivery of the final optioneering stage and detailed design for construction and provide support during assembly as required.
Lead and develop the Digital team to develop industry leading engineering design and solutions.
Work collaboratively with the Project Management Team, Senior Design Manager, Design Managers, Design Leads, Design Team Members, Construction Team and all key stakeholders to deliver best value solutions.
Create and evolve their BIM strategy, focussed on their business goals and the Employers Information Requirements (EIR) whilst ensuring that they are compliant with a minimum of Level-2 BIM and aligned to all relevant BIM standards and government strategies.
Along with the project lead, responsible for the completion of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) with the overall Project Execution Plan and Design Management Plan especially in information management, 3D, 4D, 5D and 5D+ aspects, including implementation and management of the BEP via change control procedures.
Assess existing, unused functionality of current platforms and where appropriate, implementing.
Working with other members of the digital team and appropriate stakeholders you will ensure that the platforms you are responsible for are integrated with other partners/AW platforms and aligned with the digital strategy.
Provide technical & process support on the collaboration platforms and integrations.
Evolve/adopt technologies to improve current processes.
Along with the wider digital team, support the users in making the most of the platform, upskilling people and ensuring they have the required competencies.
Helping people get the most out of our BIM360 driven VR collaborative solution.
Manage the production and co-ordination of the digital & CAD programme and all deliverables throughout the project.
Ensure by working with the project planner, that all deliverables are integrated within the construction programme.
Lead the 4D & 5D processes, allowing for risk mitigation, construction schedule and sequencing to be visualised by the team. Whilst also adding the financial costs to the model.
Monitor and report on progress on a weekly and monthly basis, including taking action to maintain design delivery to time, cost, drive efficiencies, quality and safety requirements.
Oversee the deliverables for the Digital discipline ensuring they are produced within the required timescales, costs are properly managed and Technical change is tightly controlled.
Experience:Level 4 National Qualification Level (e.g. HNC, level 4 award, level 4 certificate etc)
Knowledge of the UK BIM Framework: BS1192, PAS1192 and ISO 19650 suite of standards and Government Construction Strategies
Experience of BIM processes and methodologies
Proven track record of the management of business systems.
Exploitation of technologies to improve business efficiency.
Management of Autodesks BIM360 platform
Water industry experience (preferred)
Experience of 4D/5D processes.
Experience of VR/AR technologies
An experienced manager of people and teams, developing others, and managing staff welfare.
High level of CAD draughting experience
Fluent in Microsoft office software
