Why we're hiring:
The Accounts Receivable Department consists of Credit Control, Cash Allocation, and the Billing teams. The Media Billing team is responsible for billing between £300-400m worth of Media billing each month, across 1300 external clients as well as intercompany accounts on behalf of several agencies within the WPP Group.
In this role you will work closely with both WPP companies and their clients to ensure monthly billing practices are put in place to enable an efficient and successful order to cash process, and to provide a high standard of administrative support. This role will report into the Billing Manager.
What you'll be doing:
Responsible for end to end, bill to pay for a group of key complex customers. Manage billing activities to ensure billing for those customers is complete, accurate, in the required customer format and is submitted in a timely manner;
Attending client meetings to present and discuss billing and cash collection reviews;
Working with the SSC India billing team, to ensure they work effectively with internal and external customers on billing queries, supporting documents, contractual changes, client liaison, prospective sales and timely cash collections;
TWorking with SSC India to monitor that service delivery is maintained in accordance with the Target Operating Model and documented Service Levels and KPI's and identify areas of success and areas of concern;
Supporting and assisting with Audits: SOX, Internal and External;
Working with Agencies to onboard and exit clients.
What you'll need:
Excellent communication skills - able to communicate effectively both internally and externally, verbally and in writing, as well as at different levels of an organization;
Commercially focused with a proactive service-oriented approach;
The ability to build and maintain strong internal and external working relationships;
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office at intermediate to advanced level), particularly MS Excel;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail;
Ideally AAT qualified or working towards an accounting qualification;
Managing of own workload and collaboration with your team to ensure consistent service levels;
Good understanding of general accounting principles relating to the sales ledger and experience in client billing;
Role will require occasional travel to various WPP companies (these are also based in central London);

By taking over transactional financial activities, the WPP SSC enables our agencies to focus on commercial activities, client management as well as revenue and cost management.
In 2021, the WPP SSC UK organisation transferred specific process and transactional activities to the WPP SSC in India. The WPP SSC teams in the UK and India work together to provide services to WPP companies in the UK.
