Bid Writer

Job Description
The Bid Writer will work within a multi-disciplinary team from across all parts of our business to deliver tender responses and ensure that Ringway and Eurovia UK’s businesses remain at the forefront of highways services in the UK.

The successful candidate is to have experience of writing technical and non-technical quality submissions, preferably in the highways sector for local or central government contracts.
Proven experience of writing and contributing to bids/quality submissions for public sector – local or central government contracts. Preferably in the highways sector, though this is not essential.
Working to tight bid timelines and within a highly performing team
Production of high-quality bid submissions on time
Copy writing experience is beneficial
Skills required;
Proven writing ability with outstanding written English grammar, spelling and vocabulary
Excellent communicator, able to liaise with other teams and individuals from operative to MD level to gain information for responses, such as evidence of our proven approach
Process led, with an ability to start an answer plan from a blank page
Self-motivated to meet deadlines, with focus on detail to deliver the required quality
Strong MS Word skills, including formatting and knowledge and experience of other systems such as SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint
Collaborative and able to establish good relationships with individuals, and teams, across the organisation

Knowledge;
Knowledge of contractual, commercial, technical and operational issues relating to public sector contracts
Knowledge of procurement legislation, procedures and standards
Knowledge of the bidding/tendering process

Formal qualifications required;
The core criteria required for this role is to
ideally hold an English Degree
or hold an English A-Level with a high pass; B, A or A+
Experience of being able to interpret technical and contractual information into easy-to-read and impactful proposals. A higher-level qualification in Copywriting or Journalism may also be considered.
