Bid Director – Offshore Energy Projects
My Client
My client is an investment firm, responsible for managing one of the world's largest offshore portfolios. Based in London, the team boasts diverse competencies in project development, engineering, regulation, construction, asset management, finance, and merger & acquisition.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Bid Director will seek to further establish my clients presence in the market:
Responsibilities Include:
Act as the bid leader for Offshore projects during the early project stages
Develop bidding plans to deliver timely, accurate, compliant, and competitive bids
Identify potential consortium partners, develop strong relationships, and formalize contractual documents
Lead cross-functional teams focused on producing high-quality deliverables
Create scope, timeline, budget, risk assessments, and business cases for all bidding activities
Identify necessary internal and external resources for successful bidding activities
Coordinate internal and external resources, including legal, technical, and insurance advisers
Gather bid inputs and lead the drafting of bid documents
Serve as a conduit between the procuring authority and Transmission Investment
Research future project pipelines to plan necessary bidding activities
Develop and deliver handover plans from Origination to Development during the preferred bidder stage
Establish necessary procedures and processes to support bidding activities
Your profile:
Qualified beyond a bachelors degree
Minimum 10 years experience in managing bidding programs, for complex infrastructure projects
Experience leading diverse teams
Experience in managing advisers and JV partners
Understanding of establishing and governing consortia
Knowledge of the offshore transmission sector is desirable
