An opportunity has arisen to a Principal Engineer – Battery Performance to join our clients Battery Systems Department and support the development of battery performance across all electrification programmes. With over 10 years of experience in battery system design, our client has developed a portfolio of powerful and robust battery management hardware solutions. Battery management hardware has been proven in some of the most demanding environments and is designed with certification in mind for automotive and other safety-critical applications. Their hardware platforms seamlessly integrate with their battery performance algorithms, unlocking increased power, energy, and life from any given battery system.
As a Battery Performance Engineer you will be:
Electrical, thermal, and electrochemical battery performance and safety.
Battery system concepts from system level requirements by cell selection and pack sizing.
Battery test plans and procedures to validate battery system performance and safety.
Battery data from tests, race events, and fleet operations.
Battery performance and safety through model simulations.
Manage a small team of engineers and provide technical mentorship.
Engage with stakeholders at all levels as a battery performance representative.
Representing the team externally as a battery system technical expert for ongoing project delivery, business development, and academic partnerships.
As a Battery Performance Engineer you will have:
Experience in battery data analysis in MATLAB.
Strong experience in battery systems modelling and simulations.
Strong understanding of HV battery systems and their safety strategies.
Advanced understanding of battery cell technologies.
Experience in battery system development programmes.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
