Barrister Aqeel Malik qualified as a Barrister-at-Law in the year 2011 and is a Member at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, London, United Kingdom. After completing the Bar Professional Training Course and Clerking with Honourable Judges at Snaresbrook Crown Court, London, United Kingdom, Mr. Malik proceeded to the United States and obtained a Master of Laws degree specialising in International and Comparative Law from the George Washington University, Washington DC.
Upon his return from the United States, Mr. Malik started practising law in Pakistan. His major areas of practice and concentration are Constitutional, Criminal, Private International Law, White Collar Crime, International Contract Negotiations, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He also provides regular consultations to foreign missions as well as Non-Governmental Organisations ‘INGOs’ about the ins and outs of legal compliance in Pakistan. Mr. Malik represents individuals of high standing from various industries and professions; including heads of different organisations, institutions, and companies in diverse matters pertaining to fraud, corruption, money laundering, embezzlement, and illegal practices.
He also provides representation to political leaders of Pakistan on a regular basis as a thorough professional and has therefore represented various High-ranking individuals as well as their respective businesses at various forums of law from time to time. He is also experienced in the whole spectrum of arbitration, mediation, and negotiations; in particular, the claims arising from contractual breaches and other related claims before national and international forums. Further, Mr. Malik is the legal representative of and deals in issues pertaining to Consular issues for various Diplomatic Missions, including the Embassy of Austria, Italy, Poland, Germany, Brazil, Austrian Federal Ministry of Interior, Royal Danish Embassy to name a few. Moreover, Mr. Malik is one of the very few lawyers providing assistance to various Diplomatic Missions and Embassies on legal issues pertaining to Afghanistan.
Mr. Malik is regularly invited to Law-Conferences and symposiums around the world which adds to his exposure to the profession and legal acumen.
Aside from practising law, Mr. Malik possesses an avid interest within the political sphere of Pakistan as he has contested the 2018 By-Election for the National Assembly and was the runner-up candidate. He is quite active politically within his constituency and divides his time between law and politics. memberships
