Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment's bar area. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a keen eye for detail. As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining inventory, contributing towards innovative drinks menus, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The bar manager will report directly to the owners and work with them to ensure the concept of Rain Dogs is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, including bartenders, barbacks, and servers.
Schedule staff effectively to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours.
Foster a positive work environment by providing guidance, feedback, and support to team members.
Motivating the team to maximise sales and minimise wastage.
Operational Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
Implement cost-control measures to maximise profitability without compromising quality.
Ensuring line cleans are completed and all bar equipment is working properly and escalate any issues promptly to the owners.
Ensuring a positive relationship with service providers including EPOS and card terminals and reporting any issues.
Take responsibility for stock management, including ordering, stock takes, reporting on discrepancies and making sure stock is correct on EPOS systems.
Menu Development:
Work with senior management to update drink menus to reflect current trends and seasonal offerings.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure alignment between food and beverage offerings.
Experiment with new recipes and techniques to enhance the bar's offerings and attract customers.
Customer Service:
Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Build and maintain relationships with regular customers to ensure loyalty and repeat business.
Financial Management:
Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Analyse financial reports and identify areas for improvement to increase profitability.
Control costs related to labour, inventory, and wastage to meet budgetary goals.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.
In-depth knowledge of beverage operations, including cocktail preparation, mixology, and wine service.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in bar management software and basic accounting principles.
Personal Licence Qualification (APLH).
Food Hygiene and Safety in Catering Certificate.
First Aid at Work Qualification is preferred.
Adequate IT skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
Good judgement and a positive approach to conflict management.

Salary:
£30,000 - £34,500 (depending on experience)

Job Type:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, between 6 - 12 hour shifts over 5 days
