Band 7 Clinical/Educational PsychologistCardiffFull Time, Permanent About the Role:As a Band 7 Clinical/Educational Psychologist, you will play a key role in delivering behavior support and psychological therapy to both residential and day students. This role is suitable for new/recently qualified Clinical/Educational Psychologists.Responsibilities: Collaborate with an established clinical team, including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Behaviour Support Nurse, Assistant Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietician, and Physiotherapist.Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) models and maintain close links with the wider PBS community in Wales.Provide behaviour support and psychological therapy in accordance with Autism frameworks and guidelines from the Welsh Government and NICE.Contribute to the development of creative adaptations to therapeutic strategies, including but not limited to CBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy.Engage in regular coproduction of therapeutic materials with students.Systemically support staff teams and collaborate with carers and family members using DDP and attachment-focused approaches.Contribute to staff training in trauma-informed ways of working to create relationally secure environments for students.Uphold a culture of care, empowering students and promoting the development of skills and strengths within the least restrictive environment. Requirements: Qualification as a Clinical or Educational Psychologist and HCPC registered.Interest and skills in working alongside and supporting multidisciplinary team staff.Commitment to evidence-based and model-adherent psychological provisions.Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and coproduction with students.Ability to provide comprehensive assessments and interventions under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.Desire to develop supervision skills with Assistant Psychologists and/or Trainee placements.
