Waltham Forest Children NHS are looking fro a Band 7 Children's Occupational Therapist. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Band 7 Occupational Therapist includes.

  • Assessment of new referrals to the service Identification of needs and development of treatment plans for a range of needs;
  • Interventions and reviews
  • Completion of onward referrals as required
  • Completion of reports.
  • Assess new referrals and provide intervention to support young people with ASD or LD and their families in the specific client group of having Care Education and Treatment Reviews (CETR).
  • Interventions will aim to support the client to participate in activities of daily living and to remain in community settings.
  • Identifying and advising on management of underlying reasons for difficulties including sensory differences.
  • Assessment and treatment on the unit, in community settings and home visits as appropriate to support the acute clinical pathway.
  • An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Previous experience working with major adaptations.
  • Manual handling experience
  • HCPC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Have all Immunisations.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification.
