An opportunity has arisen for a fulltime and part time Band 6 physiotherapist - to work within the Medical team and Elderly care across Epsom and St Helier Hospital Sites.Main duties of the job
To assess and treat their own specialist caseload of medical, rehabilitation/ surgery/ respiratory inpatients. To assess and implement specialist treatment programmes as an autonomous practitioner, maintaining associated clinical records. To work closely with MDT in supporting discharge planning
Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals and gain valid informed consent to treatment. To supervise junior members of the team To take part in IST To be an active part of the MDT To participate in weekend working on a rota basis.

To deputise for B7 duties as required, including supervising junior staff and students To manage a clinical caseload Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programs if required. Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload seeking guidance from Team Leader/Therapies Clinical Manager as appropriate. Work within Trust and CSP clinical guidelines and to have a good working knowledge of national and local standards. To monitor own and others quality of practice as appropriate. Represent the therapy service and/or individual patients at the multi-disciplinary team meetings, to ensure the delivery of a coordinated multi-disciplinary service and integrate physio treatment into the treatment programme. This will include discussion of patient care, patient progress and involvement in discharge planning. To carry and prioritise own patient caseload and other ongoing tasks, allocating appropriate work to assistants juniors and students.

Physiotherapy Qualification / Diploma or Degree HCPC registered
ExperienceEssential
Core Band 5 rotations - COTE, Resp, Ortho, Neuro Acute experience Band 5 , student , B3 supervision. Good understanding of complex patient discharge planning.
