We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced band 6 Nurse to join the Chronic Pain Service in a CNS role with ward sister responsibilities for the pain procedure unit (ward 18.)The post holder will work autonomously and with the wider multi-disciplinary team to help deliver an expert inpatient and outpatient specialist service for those patients needing chronic pain assessment and intervention. You will be committed to the delivery of high-quality patient care, and you will play an active part in clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, and audit.The post holder will also assist Pain Management Consultants to undertake Interventional Pain Procedures Under Imaging Guidance., whilst ensuring that patients attending the unit receive safe and effective care. The post holder will act as a role model for junior team members in the delivery of a consistent high standard of nursing practice. He / she will deputies for the Senior Sister and will support the leadership and management of the department with particular emphasis on quality and clinical standards.The service operates Monday to Friday so will be the ideal position for those looking to work mainly weekdays. You will be expected to work cross site as required. * Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration * Evidence of post registration CPD / post registration qualification in pain management or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6
ExperienceEssential
* Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC * Significant post registration experience, with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for acute pain/ pain management. * Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence * Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality * Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting * Experience of working in a multidisciplinary and cross agency work environment * Demonstrate understanding / experience / willingness to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as detailed in the NMC
